Wesley "Duke" Green, a beloved figure known for his spirit and incredible knack for carpentry, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2024. Born on January 9, 1971, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Wesley led a life for 53 years filled with both purpose and joy.
A proud veteran, Wesley served in the Navy for eight years, an experience that he regarded as one of his proudest accomplishments. After his military service, he channeled his talents into a successful career as a carpenter, indulging his passion for building and creating. Wesley was not only dedicated to his craft but also took immense pride in the family he fostered over the years, embracing many children who were not of his blood but became part of his close-knit family.
Wesley was a man of faith, characterized by his loving, goofy, and sometimes sarcastic personality. He possessed a boundless capacity for warmth and compassion, always ready with open arms for anyone who needed them. He enjoyed writing, reading, sipping coffee, and studying the Bible, which brought him comfort and structure.
He is survived by his brothers, Bubba Green and Jamie Richardson; sister, Tammie Green; children, Cheyenna Green, Logan Green, Coleton Green, Dakota Hefley, Erin Yarbrough and Jazmine Keahbone; grandchildren, Zalen Green, Elijah Branch, Alana Johnson, Saydr Hefley, Joyce Hefley, Mason Hefley, and Olivia Keahbone; and his best friend, James Smith.
Wesley is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Dean Green; mother, Joy Lee Poole Green; and sisters, Sharon Green and Sissy Pritchard. His legacy of love and his indomitable spirit will continue to resonate through the lives he touched, reminding all who knew him of the profound impact of kindness, family, and faith.
