Sally Van de Pas, 73, beloved by many, passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in a Texarkana, Texas, nursing home. She was born on October 18, 1951, in Angelina, Texas, to Veteran Robert Marinus Van de Pas and Lucy Mildred Banks Van de Pas.

Sally, a member of the Texas High School Class of 1969, excelled in academics and leadership, earning selection as a Girls State Representative. Her love for the arts began in high school through her involvement in the Debate and Drama Club.

She graduated in 1974 with a B.A. in Radio, Television, and Film from Texas Christian University. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, Epsilon Eta Chapter, and was initiated in 1970.

Following in her mother's footsteps, Sally was an active member of the Lone Star Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, serving as a historian and United States Flag Chair. She and her mother’s stories and artifacts remain cherished by the Lone Star DAR members.

Sally’s dedication to the local arts scene was undeniable. She served as a director on the board of the Texarkana Repertory Company, Inc., and volunteered her backstage talents for both the Repertory Company and the Texarkana Community Ballet for many years. She was known for her meticulous attention to detail, calm demeanor, and contributions to multiple productions, including building puppets for James Maynard Theatrical Designs.

Sally was known for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and ability to brighten anyone’s day. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by numerous cousins and special friends.

Honoring Sally’s lifelong dedication to the arts, memorials may be made to the Texarkana Repertory Company, Inc., and the Texarkana Community Ballet.
