Murl Dean Jones

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Murl Dean Jones “Spoon”, of Ogden, AR, on March 16, 2025 at the age of 67, after being surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Mena, AR, Murl got an early start on life. He went to work in the log woods in high school. He spent the last 40 years working as a Logger with various companies throughout Ark-La-Tex.

When he retired, he started a garden and spent any extra free-time outdoors doing what he loved most. Whether it was fishing on the Red River, camping at Cossatot, or building a fire in his backyard.

Survivors include wife, Debbie Jones; 3 Daughters, Cindy (Mark) Shores, Shanon Williams, and Shaena (Salomon) Lemus; 10 grandchildren, Aidan, Alisyn, Adilyn, Alyvia, and Alysah (Shanon), and Harlee, Bailee, Gaby, Sadie, and Salomon (Shaena).

Private memorial will be held by family at later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Tri State Cremation and Funeral Services.
