Mr. Milton Lamar Amerison, aged 74 and a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Friday, March 24, 2023.
Lamar was born the first of five children to Milton and Claudia
Amerison, on October 9, 1948. He was raised in Colquitt,
Georgia, where he also attended and graduated high school. He was a veteran of the United States Army, who served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He later went on to obtain his Associates of Applied Science Degree from Bainbridge College. Throughout his career as a welder and millwright mechanic,
Lamar mastered and utilized the skills he learned early on while working with his father at the Amerison Welding Shop in Colquitt. He ended his career with his retirement from Weyerhaeuser in Dierks, Arkansas. Lamar had a great work ethic and was an
excellent provider for his family.
In his free time, Lamar enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. He was a jack of all trades and could fix damn near anything. His great sense of humor gave his family and friends many stories and memories that will be
talked and laughed about for many years to come. Lamar was both a Mason and a follower of Jesus. May the fact that he is
now in the presence of our Lord and Savior, and that we will
someday see him again, provide some comfort and solace to
those who knew him.
Lamar was preceded in death by both his father and his mother. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Amerison of Horatio AR, three daughters, Amanda (Sonny) Kimmel of DeQueen, AR, Angela Carvajal of Allen, TX, and Alisha (Jason) Canada of McKinney, TX; his four step-children, Robert (Shera) Stephens of Batesville, AR, Jessica Kennedy of Dequeen, AR, Barbara (Jim) Bernadowski of Las Vegas, NV, and Danielle (Tommy) Crozier of Huntsville, AR; fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four siblings, Elaine (Royce) Pickren of Donalsonville, GA, Randall (Denice) Amerison of Jakin, GA, Marvin Amerison of Colquitt, GA, and Steve Amerison of Iron City, GA, and his beloved Maltese Teddy.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
