Matthew A. May, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 27, 2025, in Texarkana, Texas. Born on October 18, 1960, in Buena Vista, Virginia, Matthew led a life marked by love for his family and a passion for the great outdoors.
As a Diesel Truck Driver, Matthew dedicated himself to his work, exemplifying the values of hard work and perseverance. However, it was in his personal life where he truly shone. Matthew's warmth and dedication to his family were evident to all who knew him, always prioritizing their happiness and well-being.
Matthew’s personality radiated joy and camaraderie; he was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting and fishing. These passions not only provided him with personal fulfillment but also allowed him to create lasting memories with those he loved. Whether it was sharing stories of his adventures or simply enjoying the tranquility of nature, Matthew found peace and happiness in these pursuits.
Matthew is reunited in eternal rest with his father, Albert May, whose memory will forever be honored by those left behind.
He leaves behind his beloved mother, Patricia Fitzgerald; his daughter, Cassandra Bell; and his grandson, Josiah. Matthew is also survived by his sister, Linda May, and brothers, Robert May and Buddy May. He will be deeply missed by his loving best friend, Judy Foster, whose companionship brought him joy throughout his life.
