Lisa Gail Thedford, 64, of Texarkana, Texas, went home to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on September 10, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Robert and Linda Durham, both of Bowie County, Texas.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 18 years, Bill Thedford, of Texarkana, Texas. She is survived by her fiancé, Bill Johnson, of Greenwood, LA; one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Chris Bowhall, and grandson Rylon, of Wake Village, Texas; one son, J.R. Yarborough, and fiancée, Brandie McBride, along with two grandsons, Cameron Williams (Kelsey) and Connor Thompson, and granddaughter Kinzy Yarborough, all of Texarkana, Texas.
She is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Nancy Durham, of Texarkana, Texas, and Robbie and Tammy Durham, of Wake Village, Texas; one sister, Betty Durham, of Texarkana, Texas; two great-grandchildren; her best friend of over 30 years, Rita Lawver, of Texarkana, Texas, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Lisa was a member of Liberty Eylau Baptist Church, the owner of the former Redwater Diner in Redwater, Texas, a great friend, and an awesome Mama, Granny, and Aunt. She fought for her kids, her family, and friends, bravely facing the battle of two types of cancer at once. The Victory now belongs to Jesus.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Texarkana and to our two family nurses who gave extra nursing advice and care, Leah and Elizabeth Gillette. We are especially thankful to all who visited, called, prayed, and sat by her side through it all.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 1 PM, following a short visitation at 12:30 PM at Liberty Eylau Baptist Church, 5605 S Lake Drive, Texarkana, Texas 75501.
