Julia Ann Nix

Julia Ann (Coker) Nix, age 76, left this physical world on July 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, after a strong and courageous battle with cancer. 

Julia (Judy) was born August 21st, 1947, to Robert and Eloy Coker in Fouke, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Wanda, Juanita, Doris, and Cheryl, and brothers Maxie, Buster, and Jerry. 

She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Carla Whittington and Darrell Pugh, Teresa and Al Wright, and Amanda and Jonny Ross. She was the most devoted and wonderful Grandma and Mamoo to Tabitha and Matthew Starkey, Katie and Allen Crockett, Samantha Wright, Callie Wright, Rafe, Ava, and Cora Ross, and great grandkids Chael, Ellie, Malachi, and Lainey Starkey, Kensley and Hayse Crockett, and Easton Tuffy. 

Mama was the most hard working and independent woman, and was sure to instill those traits and habits in her daughters. She held her family together and made sure that we always got together for birthdays, holidays, and any special occasion. Whether it was in the Texas summer heat, on hard wooden bleachers, out in the cold and drizzling weather, or in a room full of people, her grandkids could always look in the crowd and spot their Mamoo present. She was their biggest fan! 

Her presence is already missed and there will be a great void in our lives, but as on Earth, we know we will feel her presence, and she will always be in our hearts. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 10th, from 2-4PM, at Julia’s home. The address is 1209 E 34th Street, Texarkana, AR. Please join the family to celebrate the wonderful life that Julia had here on Earth, to share memories of her, and to just enjoy being together in her spiritual presence.
