John W Stoddard

John W. Stoddard, age 68, passed away on March 6, 2025, at CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. Born on June 1, 1956, he spent his formative years in Temple, Texas, where he was raised and remained a cowboy at heart.

A USMC Vietnam veteran, John had a 45-year career operating heavy equipment and managing logistics in the retrieval and disposal of unexploded ordnance across America and overseas.

John was a man of few words and no excuses for who he was. He believed in God, loved deeply, and provided for and protected his family. He enjoyed the camaraderie and brotherhood of fellow veterans, bikers, and friends. He conveyed love and friendship through his good humor and never hesitated to help a stranger in need without fanfare. To all who knew John, they knew of his unpretentious and true heart. John is now and will forever be missed.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Magnuson-Dueitt; father, William "Wig" Dueitt; brothers, Frank Stoddard and Charlie Dueitt; sister, Cheryl Dueitt; and grandson, Logan McConnell.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Stoddard; children, Bradley McConnell and Megan McConnell-Dorras; siblings, Mike Stoddard, Tim Stoddard, and Kelly Dueitt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Ferguson Park, Texarkana, TX, with a gathering to follow at The Crazy Horse Saloon, Texarkana, AR.

John will be remembered for his strong will, unwavering loyalty, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy of kindness, service, and integrity will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
