Jerry Phillips, a cherished resident of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025. Born on July 12, 1943, in Texarkana, he dedicated his life to building a legacy both in his profession and his family. Jerry was a respected construction owner, showing an unwavering commitment to his work and community throughout his career.

Throughout his 58 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Jean Phillips, Jerry exemplified love and devotion. Their bond was a testament to their mutual respect and admiration, and together they raised a family grounded in values of integrity and hard work. Jerry treasured his role as a father to Kim and Norman Summerlin, Karmen and Mitch Cobb, and Shannon Yeatman the 3rd devoted daughter by choice. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Tyler Cobb, Karis and Ben Mellgren, and Kenan Summerlin, who brought him immense joy and pride.

In addition to his successful career and devoted family life, Jerry honorably served in the Army National Guard, further showcasing his commitment to serving his country. He was also a long-time member of the First Baptist Church on Moores Lane, where he participated actively and found community and fellowship among his peers.

Jerry's life was built upon the foundational relationships he nurtured with his family and friends. He is remembered fondly by his brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Jean Phillips, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Letho Bell Phillips, and his siblings: Joanne Fultz, Jewel Phillips, and Louise Harris. Their memories will forever be cherished as part of his journey and the legacy he leaves behind.
