George Wayne Stephens

George Wayne Stephens Jr., 77, of New Boston, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on October 19, 2024.

Born on September 8, 1947, in Abilene, Texas, George was the son of the late George Wayne Stephens Sr. and Gaytha Lee. A high school graduate, he worked diligently as a custodian for many years, embodying a strong work ethic and dedication to those around him.

George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Barbara Stephens, as well as his parents and his sisters, Carolyn Stephens and Leverne McCutchson.

He is survived by his stepchildren: Gary (Cathy) Lindley, Bob (Cristy) Lindley, Randy (Debra) Lindley, and Richard (Misti) Lee. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Parker and Dakota Hoskins, Haley Lindley, Justin Miller, Kay-Lee Lindley, Dillon Lindley, Slatter Lindley, Cat Lindley, Kacie Lindley, Billy and Cheyanne Gray, and Melissa Lindley, and his great-grandchildren, Xander James Miller and Kennidie Nicole Miller.

George will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever cherish his memory.
