Dennis Edward Shafer, Sr. Entered his eternal heavenly home on March 8,2023.
Dennis was a decorated Retired Veteran of the United States Air Force from 1964-1984 where he bravely served multiple tours in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos as a Fuel Systems Mechanic and later as an Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic.
Upon retiring from the military he went on to earn his Master’s degree with honors and became a Professor teaching many students to become A&P mechanics in Broomfield, Colorado.
He was one of only ten professors endorsed by the FAA as a DME to provide Federal Oral and Practical Testing for the FAA.
Dennis is preceded in death by his siblings, Elwood Sebert of Charlotte, NC, Leo Shafer of Pensacola, FL, Wayne Shafer of Crown Point, IN and his sister A-lese Shafer Fitzgerald of Blue Springs, MO.
He is survived by his Children Dennis Shafer Jr of Frankfurt, Germany and Denise Shafer of Texarkana, TX. Along with his 4 grandchildren Brandi Rhodes of Texarkana, TX, Steve Rhodes Jr of Round Rock, TX, Damien Shafer of Ft Smith, AR and Destiny Shafer of Ft Smith, AR.
He also had 8 great-grandchildren Tiffini Rowles (16), Triniti Rowles (14), Sapphire “Sassy” Scarpa-Shafer (12), Carson Haynes (7), Cameron Haynes (5), Ariah Haynes (4), Amarah Haynes (2) and Aniah Shafer (8 months).
He was loved by many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Dennis’ passed Into the arms of God surrounded by His children, Grandchildren and Great- Grandchildren.
His last words were “It’s ok, My Redeemer Lives”.
