Deborah Kay England, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by love ones, on October 28, 2024, at the age of 63. She was a loving and caring mother, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Deb has always been a fighter and that didn’t change these last 6 months while she battled lung cancer. Despite the unknown and all the pain, she faced everyday with courage and strength.
Deb was born on May 25, 1961 to James Strohman Sr. and Mary Haffner in Iowa City, Iowa. Deb graduated Spencer High School in 1978. She was blessed with four children; Randy, Jeromy, Anna and Kathryn.
Deb had many different career paths throughout her life from roofer, insurance adjusting and OTR truck driver. She moved to Texas in 2012 where she drove a log truck for the Epperson’s and then became a pilot car owner/operator. Her final business endeavor was her food truck that was a lifelong dream that her granddaughter Emily has taken over.
Deb enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, reading, horseback riding, putting puzzles together, gambling and kicking butt in cards. But her greatest love were her grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her biological father James Strohman Sr., father Larry Haffner. Her late husband Alan England. Her grandchildren Byron Cooke and Kayci Emerson and great-nephew Kyan Crooks, her grandparents Bud and Hazel Frisbee and Aunt Hazel Lambertus. She is survived by her mother Mary Haffner of Spencer, IA. Siblings James Strohman Jr. of Des Moines, IA, Jeff (Sheila) Strohman of Pensacola, FL, Keith (Amy) Strohman of Linn Grove, IA, Susan Sauter of Lenox, IA, Mary Christopherson of Spencer, IA and James Strohman Jr. of St. Cloud, MN. Her children; Randy Cooke of Fontanelle, IA, Jeromy (Bessie) Cooke of New Boston, TX, Anna Lingerfelt of DeKalb, TX and Kathryn Larsen of Clearfield, IA; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
