Cheryl Polk, a devoted missionary and beloved resident of Prescott, departed this world on March 26, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on February 6, 1951, Cheryl’s life was a testament to the values she held dear: faith, family, and service to others.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Elder Willis J. Polk, her son, Darius Ward, and her parents. Her loss is profoundly felt by all who knew her, as she was not only a loving wife and mother but also a compassionate grandmother and great-grandmother who touched the lives of many.
Left to honor her memory are her daughter, Tammial Grimes, who carries forward her mother’s legacy of love and dedication; her grandchildren, Tabitha Smith (married to Cameron Smith), Demetrius Polk (married to Aurelia Polk), Ta’Lonnie Grimes-Scaggs, Darius St. James, and Giovanni Ward; and her great-grandchildren, Demetrius Polk Jr. and DeShon Smith. Cheryl is also survived by her siblings, Juanita Jones, Lucinda Lockett, Monica Clark, Paul Grimes, and Tom Grimes, alongside a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives she enriched with her kindness and spirit.
Cheryl's unwavering commitment to her faith and community marked her as an inspiration to those around her. She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for the joy and love she brought into the lives of her family and her mission work. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and love will continue to resonate within the hearts of everyone she left behind.
