Charles Hershell Wortman of Rosston, AR passed away at age 92 on October 11, 2023. Charles was born on November 16, 1930, in Nashville, AR to Ellsworth and Nettie Mae (Martin) Wortman. Charles was the eldest of two sons. He graduated from Nashville, AR High School on May 31, 1948. Charles was called to the ministry after he married his wife, Judith Nadine (Dillard) Wortman on June 1, 1951. Charles Hershell Wortman was a minister for almost 50 years, serving the Lord in many ways over the years. In 1956 he was called to minister a church in San Antonio, TX and his family lived there until 1966. At that time, his family moved to Houston, TX and served in the ministry at several churches in the area. On October 23, 1972, Charles & Judith adopted a son, Kevin Scott Wortman. In 2005 his wife, Judith Nadine (Dillard) Wortman was diagnosed with Cancer. In 2006 they decided to move back to Rosston, AR in the house they lived in when they were married in 1951 to live a quieter, more peaceful life. On May 17, 2007, his wife of 55 years passed away to be with the Lord and now rest at Rosston Cemetery in Rosston, AR. At this time, Charles moved back to Houston, TX home for several years. In April 2014 he decides to sell their home in Houston, TX and moves back to original home where they were married in Rosston, AR to stay for the remainder of his life. In 2015 his son, Kevin Scott Wortman moved in with his dad which has been a true blessing for Dad and the family. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth and Nettie Mae Wortman; his wife, Judith Nadine Wortman; and his great grandson, Connor Montgomery. Charles is survived by his brother, Lindell Ray Wortman; his daughter, Judith Rene (Wortman) Bickerstaff; his son, Kevin Scott Wortman; his grandson, John Aaron Montgomery; his granddaughter, Jennifer Rene Montgomery; and his six (6) great grandchildren, Kayleigh Brewton, Caleb Montgomery, Kimberly Montgomery, Cynthia Toland, Devin Toland and Bethany Carrico.
